WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM A SESSION?

Sessions evolve from conversations about the current reality of your life; whether you are an addict in early recovery, a parent or family member of an addict searching for understanding and/or guidance, or someone struggling with life issues. The focus of a session is identify problematic areas, begin a process of inquiry to better understand specific problem areas, and then work towards transforming what has not worked to that which leads to a brighter and more meaningful future. Client sessions are scheduled 1-2 times weekly and last approximately 1.5 hours. Phone and Skype sessions are available. Your participation in session and the times in between are invaluable.

WHAT DO YOU MEAN WHEN YOU TALK ABOUT ADDRESSING ADDICTION AS A ‘LIFESTYLE?’

Addiction (whether to a substance or behavior) is inclusive of more than just the substance or behavioral aspect of the addiction. Addiction as a lifestyle, which includes the substance and/or behavior, includes much more. For many addicts getting sober is but the beginning. Working with a 12-step sponsor and attending meetings is important, but even more important is learning how to live and function in a world most addicts have long not been an active part of. As someone who has over 25 years of recovery, who has been a part of creating a 12-step program for addictive lifestyles, and that works as a certified addictions counselor I am able to coach and support you in addressing the many areas needed directly, or through referral, to rebuilding and creating a new life for you. As with any type of coaching participation on your part is the integral piece of creating an unprecedented life.
